Weather Prompts Closing of Regional Branches of Maryland Comptroller’s Office

Regular Hours in Annapolis, Cumberland, Hagerstown, Salisbury; Baltimore to Open at Noon

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (January26, 2016) – Due to issues related to the snow storm, the following Comptroller Branch Offices will remain closed today: Elkton, Frederick, Landover, Towson, Upper Marlboro, Waldorf and Wheaton.

The Annapolis, Cumberland, Hagerstown and Salisbury are open today with regular hours. The Baltimore office will open at noon. Taxpayers in need of free state tax assistance can continue to call the taxpayer services line from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1-800-MD TAXES, or 410-260-7980. With staffing limitations due to the weather, taxpayers can expect longer wait times for assistance. An updated list of re-opened offices will be released when the information is available.

“I personally want to thank all Maryland taxpayers for their patience as we work to get our offices back open after a record-breaking weekend of snowfall,” Comptroller Franchot said.
