Comptroller - 1910-1911
A lifelong farmer in the tidewater tobacco fields of Maryland's western shore, Clagett entered state politics as a senator at the turn of the century. He became Comptroller to finish the unexpired term of Dr. Joshua Hering who went on to the new Public Service Commission. Clagett died only a year after his tenure as Comptroller began.
